PROMOTING YOUR
WET PARTNER WEB SITE

As you know, advertising and promotion of your web site is essential to it's success. People have to know you exist before they can buy a membership from you. The Wetlands can provide some basic advice and technical assistance relating to advertising, but the majority of this responsibility is up to the partner. Promoting your site online can actually be quite easy, but it does require plenty of patience and persistence. Nothing is guaranteed, and profits will not be handed to you on a silver platter. If you want to make money, you MUST be willing to put in the time and effort to advertise effectively.

The following are the most common forms of online advertising:

SEARCH ENGINES

Search engines are one of the most widely used form of advertising. You'll want to submit your site to the main search engines such as yahoo, excite, infoseek, altavista, etc. If you like, you can pay a search engine submission company a small fee to post your site to a large group of search engines at once. You'll also want to submit you site to as many adult search engines as possible. Adult search engines only promote adult sites (duh), and can prove very effective for increasing traffic.

BANNER EXCHANGES

Another very common method of advertising is the exchanging of banner links between web sites. This practice, however, does very little to help gain traffic to your page. You should have a page called "My Links" on your site in case you do have any friends with web sites online you want to swap banners with or if you absolutely would like to trade with a few other sites. If you want to place a banner on your page, simply send the banner image to partners@4jon.com along with the address it should link to. We will then place it on your Links page within 48 hours. For example, if you were sending us a banner for www.sexpost.com the email message should look like this:

"This is "your name" from "your site name" Attached is a banner for Sex Post. It should link to the following address: http://www.sexpost.com"

Please limit banner submissions to no more than 5-7 per week. You can create a banner to represent your site, or we can create a basic banner for you upon request.

NOTE: "CLICK-THRU" PROGRAMS WHICH ALLOW YOU TO ADVERTISE OTHER ADULT WEB SITES FOR PROFIT ARE NOT ALLOWED ON WET PARTNER WEB SITES. THE ONLY BANNERS WE WILL PLACE ON YOUR SITE ARE RECIPROCAL LINKS WHICH IN SOME WAY BENEFIT THE PROMOTION OF YOUR WEB SITE.

THUMBNAIL GALLERY POSTING (SEE ZEPH'S MEMO ON THIS)

Posting the preview images from your site to an adult thumbnail gallery site is a very effective method of advertising. There are dozens of these sites on the net. Many thumbnail galleries (as well as adult search engines) will ask you to put one of their banners on your site. (this is sometimes optional) You can send those to the same as mentioned in the banner exchange. The key to successful advertising with TGPs is persistance. Go back to the same site every so often and post your preview images again. At a partners request, their sample gallery can be updated every few weeks with images from their latest photoshoots.

TOP LISTS

Another excellent way to get hits is to put yourself on one of dozens of "TopLists" on the web. The higher you are on the list, the more traffic your receive. The more traffic you receive, the higher you go on the list!

NEWSGROUP POSTING

Posting images to adult newsgroups is a great way to get a burst of hits to your web site. First, you'll need a news reader program. If you don't have one, or want a better one, we highly recommend a program called Anawave Gravity. You can download the shareware version of Gravity at www.download.com by doing a search for "gravity". Next, you'll need to print your web site's name and address on each image you want to post to the newsgroup. This can be done in the photo or imaging program of your choice. Once the images are ready, choose a newsgroup that fits with you web site... for example...

alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.amateurs

There are hundreds of "alt.binaries.pictures.erotica." newsgroups, so feel free to post your images to whatever groups fit your site best. If you need any specific help with setting up the newsgroup reader or posting your images, send your request to partners@4jon.com.

Those are the main methods used to advertise, but you'll surely find other creative ways to get people to your site as well. If you frequent online chat rooms, mentioning your site would be a good idea. In in addition to the methods listed above, The Wetlands will also place a link to your site on our exit page.
